Courses are held at our Butler stores (unless otherwise indicated) and are taught by Trimble Certified Trainers. All courses are from 9:00AM to 4:00PM local time (CT or MT), unless otherwise indicated. Lunch will be provided for registrants attending at our facilities.

Trimble Training Sessions

TBC Introduction

This one-day course serves as an introduction to Trimble Business Center for new users, covering interface, CAD file types, layers, and exporting files for field use.

  • Learn the TBC interface and settings
  • Identify CAD file types
  • Import, view, and manage layers
  • Export files for data collectors and machines

TBC Basic File Conversion

This course teaches how to optimize workflows and create quality models in TBC, including templates, layers, line strings, and surface modeling from 3D objects.

  • Design a TBC template
  • Use standard layers and classification
  • Create, edit, and elevate line strings
  • Develop surface models from 3D objects

Operator Training - Earthworks/Cat GRADE

This one-day course introduces operators to Trimble Earthworks and Cat GRADE systems, covering basic to advanced operations, workflows, and software features.

  • Learn the basics of GPS
  • Understand the hardware requirements for machine control
  • Review dashboard and operator screens
  • Demonstrate commands and features
  • Create simple and complex surfaces using infield designs

Siteworks Training - Setup/Calibrate

This one-day course covers best practices for setting up GPS on a construction project in a hands-on format.

  • Understand Siteworks software and creating projects
  • Identify and import the necessary file types
  • Set up and configure RTK receivers
  • Calibrate project using local control points
  • Learn workflows for exporting machine control files

Siteworks Training - Measuring/Staking

This one-day course focuses on advanced functionality in Siteworks designed for users familiar with Siteworks or who have completed the setup and calibrate class.

  • Identify different uses for staking and measuring
  • Understand topographical surveys and their workflows
  • Creating, editing, and reviewing points and lines created in the software
  • Discovering new features and tools within Siteworks

TBC Take-off (Fargo Only)

This two-day advanced TBC course, taught by Jeff Pearson from Western Machine Control, covers importing and georeferencing plans, creating surfaces and templates, using the MSI Library, and producing material and quantity reports.

  • Import and georeference PDF plans
  • Create surfaces and templates
  • Use MSI Library for take-off
  • Produce material and quantity reports

TBC Design Build

This course teaches workflows for a simple design-build project in TBC, including importing field data, creating surfaces, designing corridors, and running earthwork reports with file exports.

  • Import raw field data
  • Create existing and proposed surfaces
  • Design corridors with alignments
  • Run earthwork reports and export files

TBC Utilities and Footings

This course focuses on modeling utilities and foundations in TBC, including importing PDFs, creating and elevating line strings, isolating surfaces, and exporting data for machines.

  • Import and georeference PDFs
  • Create and elevate line strings
  • Isolate and create surfaces
  • Export data for machines
